Oppo 103 mods and linear power supply updates for 103/105! 28 january 2013 i have been working on a lps (linear power supply) to replace the smps (switch-mode power supply) found in the oppo bdp 103 and bdp 105 players.. To the op just changing power supplies on the 103 aint going to make it a 105 or superior. you also not only will need the dac stage but also the analog stage of the 105 or better. go to that trouble of modding a 103 and be better off buying a 105 or if strapped for cash a 95..
Amazing upgrade for oppo 93/103 and ca players. there are plenty of modders who do full service on the oppo players. but i have come across an amazing upgrade that can be done by anyone in 5 minutes. dr lee jaehong is based in south korea and makes a replacement linear power supply for the oppo and cambridge audio blu-ray players.. Side notes - power supply definitely added something interesting to the mix as with this new linear power supply i no longer get hangups on shutdown of the machine as i use to. might be due to having all circuits dedicated to their own power regulation vs. sharing it.. The product is a modification only for the oppo bdp-103/103d, new custom linear power supply with multiple low noise regulated power supplies for video and audio circuitry. new discrete schottky diodes boards for main board power supplies (video & digital)..
