Cerberus anti theft -Very Useful app for finding lost phone
Cerberus is a complete anti-theft application, the best protection you can get to recover your misplaced, lost or stolen Android device.
It has three ways to protect your device:
- Remote control through the website www.cerberusapp.com
- Remote control via text messages
- SIM Checker (for devices that have a SIM card): you will automatically receive alerts if someone uses your phone with an unauthorized SIM card
Remote control allows you to perform many operations on your device, like:
- Locate and track it
- Start a loud alarm, even if the device is set to silent mode
- Wipe the internal memory and the SD card
- Hide Cerberus from the app drawer
- Lock the device with a code
- Record audio from the microphone
- Get a list of last calls sent and received
- Get information about network and operator the device is connected to
- And much more!
Cerberus automatically enables GPS if it is off when you try to localize your device (only on Android < 2.3.3) and you can protect it from unauthorized uninstalling - more info in the app configuration.
The app works even if the device does not have an internet connection thanks to remote control by sms messages. Also, the SIM Checker feature allows you to know the new number to send texts to, if the SIM card is changed. Texts received and sent for Cerberus remote control will not start any notification and will not appear in the Messages application.
Cerberus does not drain the battery because there is no background service running: it will activate only if there is a remote control request and will stop afterwards.
More features for rooted devices: complete uninstall protection (a thief will be able to delete Cerberus only by flashing another ROM), GPS auto-enabling even on Android > 2.3.3. More info on the website in the Help section.

Enable Picture in picture mode in VLC Android No Root
Enable Picture in picture mode in VLC Android No Root
In This post we show you show to get Picture in Picture in VLC on android O.We all familiar with PIP Mode in Mac os Safari as well as Google first brought picture-in-picture mode to Android TV with its 7.0 Nougat update, and it didnt take long after before they began work on it for the smartphone and tablet versions. We first heard a rumor about this making its way into the core Android OS back in March of this year and then we were able to figure how to enable it a few days later. This feature has evolved throughout the Android O developer previews and now were seeing more apps add support for it.

Support for Android Os picture-in-picture mode started with YouTube, then moved onto Duo, and now has made its way to a popular media player. This week, the developers behind the VLC for Android application rolled out a new update to their beta channel. This update also offers some new features such as better RTL support and improved translations, but most people have been focusing on its support for picture-in-picture mode.
The goal here is to have you start playing a video in VLC, and then move onto something else. Since this is a beta release, it isnt working as intended and youll need to trigger picture-in-picture mode with a keycode while youre in the application itself. This is how weve been enabling picture-in-picture mode since March though, so anyone who has been following along with Android O is likely already familiar with this entire process.
Were likely to see this functionality enhancement happen more and more as we get closer to the official release of Android O. Video players such as VLC are perfect for the new picture-in-picture mode so it makes sense that were seeing these types of applications test out the features so early.

In order to install VLC (beta) on your device, you need to become a VLC beta tester. Once youre in the beta program, and assuming you have Android Os preview build on your phone, you can use the VLC picture in picture view.
#How to Enable PIP mode in VLC Android O
Open VLC player and select a video to play. Tap the overflow button next to the play button on the video. From the overlay that appears on your screen, tap the one at the bottom left. It looks like a rectangle within a rectangle.

The video player will resize into a small floating window within the app. Tap the home button on your device to go to your home screen. The video will hover on top of all apps that you open.
