The life of a help center article

Google has dozens of help centers both for external and internal products. Our Technical Writers work hard to keep up with new features, constantly adding new articles, reviewing user feedback and usage metrics to improve existing content. They work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing and other parts of the company to make sure their content is accurate and in line with the messages Google wants to convey.

The Google Analytics 360 Suite publishes 8 Help Centers, including Analytics, Tag Manager, Optimize, Attribution and others. With so much knowledge being shared, we thought it would be interesting to our users to understand how we produce this content and where our ideas come from. So we decided to talk to one of our Technical Writers, Rick Elliott, who is responsible for content published in the Data Studio Help Center.

Basically, all help content comes from asking the question: what does the user need? We hope the product is intuitive and easy to use so that extra help is not required, but there are always concepts or flows that require more explanation. So thats the start of a new Help Center article. Depending on the situation, a new article usually stems from 1 of 3 sources:

We launch a new feature and it requires documentation.
We get questions from users on the help forum that can be answered by a new article.
A writer gets a bee in their bonnet and decides we need to document something more fully.

After that, its a process of interviewing the subject matter experts and trying it through lots of sample reports to make sure the flows are right. Once the first draft is done, it is sent out for review and comments, but there may be another round of review and feedback before it gets published. Another big step in the help center content flow is localization: we usually get the translated content out a week or two after publishing the English version.

The Apple iPad Pro 9 7 has only 2GB of RAM

Apple made the 9.7-inch iPad Pro selling point for the device abundantly clear - it is apparently intended as a PC replacement. This did sound like kind of a stretch from the get go, considering the existence of the larger and more productivity-friendly 12.9-inch version of the same basic product. But as the smoke cleared, people started poking even more holes in the whole plan.

Yesterday, it became clear that the A9X chip powering the new iPad is underclocked and works at around 2.16 GHz, compared to the one inside the 12.9-inch model, that clocks in at 2.24GHz. But if that wasnt enough, today a few Geekbench screenshots have surfaced, showing that the new iPad Pro only has 2GB of RAM available, compared to 4GB in the 12.9-inch model.

Discussing such performance metrics has always been a taboo topic in the Apple realm and Cupertino will surely reaffirm its stance that iOS will run just as well on both devices. However, when you are going to toss around lofty statements of going after PC -rade productivity, this might be more of a valid discussion.

Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7 4 2 2 firmware 1 2 revision January 2014

First you have to download the Sumvision Cyclone Voyager 7 4.2.2 firmware 1.2 revision from here, here or from here. Next, download the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7 from here.

Now put the Pipo S1 tablet into firmware update mode, run the Rockchip Batch Tool v1.7, select the update.img file and press Restore button. Wait for 4-5 minutes and thats it. First boot takes longer, about 5 minutes, so please be patient.

The easiest way to root this firmware version and to install CWM 6.0.31

1. Install the driver for the tablet. In my case, I have Windows 8 x64 bit, I had to follow this video tutorial. Better download Rockusb drivers v.3.5 from this post.
2. From settings enable USB Debuggibg on your Pipo S1 tablet. Download and install Moborobo or PdaNet from here. Run one of these apps to make sure that your tablet diver is correctly installed.
3. Run UnlockRoot Pro v.3.36 and press Root button. It will ask to root it againg and choose yes option. Finally the tablet will reboot and youre done. Now you have root acces. Or simply root using this video tutorial.
4. To install the CWM 6.0.2.7 please follow the update steps from this post. Then download CWM 6.0.3.1 from here or from here and copy it as it is on a micro SD card, install Quick Boot free from Play store, reboot into recovery, then choose install zip from sd card and apply the new CWM zip file from your card. Enjoy CWM 6.0.3.1 on your tablet!

BTW, dont forget to calibrate your battery using this tutorial.
