Use Robotium to test Android Checkbox
Use Robotium to test Android Checkbox

Check Boxes in Android can be tested using Robotium. The following are different functions supported by Robotium to check the Checkbox functionality.
- getCurrentCheckBoxes()
- isCheckBoxChecked(int index)
- isCheckBoxChecked(String text)
- clickOnCheckBox(int index)
The Activity contains three checkboxes, let us write some sample code to test them.
Test case for Android Check Boxes :
Steps :- Click on the Check box Android
- Click on the Check box iPhone
- Verify the Status of check boxes
- Unselect the Checkboxes iPhone and Android
- Verify the Status again
public void testCheckBoxes() throws Exception {
solo.waitForActivity("MainActivity"); //click on Image Buttonsolo.clickOnImageButton(0);
//look for checkbox text actual = solo.searchText("Windows"); assertEquals("Windows text not found",true, actual); //select checkbox Androidsolo.clickOnCheckBox(0);
//select checkbox iPhonesolo.clickOnCheckBox(2);
//check the Status of checkbox Android boolean actual1 = solo.isCheckBoxChecked(0); assertEquals("Android is not Selected",true, actual1); //check the Status of checkbox iPhone boolean actual2 = solo.isCheckBoxChecked(2); assertEquals("iPhone is not Selected",true, actual2); // unselect Android and iPhonesolo.clickOnCheckBox(0);
solo.clickOnCheckBox(2);
//check the status againactual1 = solo.isCheckBoxChecked(0);
assertEquals("Android OS is Selected",false, actual);actual2 = solo.isCheckBoxChecked(2);
assertEquals("iPhone is Selected",flase, actual2);}
- Select/Unselect Checkbox : solo.clickOnCheckBox() can be for both Select and Unselect checkbox. First time, when used this function, it will select the option and second time when performed the same action, it will unselect the Checkbox.
- Verify the Status of Checkboxes : solo.isCheckBoxChecked() function is used to verify the status of Checkbox. function returns true, if it is selected and false otherwise.
- Please note that, in the assert statements, while verifying the status of unselected check boxes, we used the expected result as false.

Use Smart Goals powered by Google Analytics to optimize in AdWords
Use Smart Goals powered by Google Analytics to optimize in AdWords
To advertise smart, you have to measure smart. And a key metric for almost any business is conversions, also known as that moment when users do the thing that you want them to do.
Many AdWords advertisers are already measuring their website conversions, using either AdWords Conversion Tracking or imported Google Analytics Ecommerce transactions. Measuring actual conversions is ideal, because it allows you to optimize your bids, your ads and your website with a clear goal in mind.
However, hundreds of thousands of small and medium businesses arent measuring their website conversions today. Some businesses may not have a way for users to convert on their website and others may not have the time or the technical ability to implement conversion tracking.
The Google Analytics team is committed to helping our users use their data to drive better marketing and advertising performance. So, for businesses that dont measure conversions in AdWords today, weve created an easy-to-use solution: Smart Goals. Smart Goals help you identify the highest-quality visits to your website and optimize for those visits in AdWords.
"Smart Goals helped us drive more engaged visits to our website. It gave us something meaningful to optimize for in AdWords, without having to change any tags on our site. We could tell that optimizing to Smart Goals was working, because we had higher sales than usual across our channels during the testing period."
- Richard Bissell, President/Owner, Richard Bissell Fine Woodworking, Inc
How Smart Goals Work
To generate Smart Goals, we apply machine learning across thousands of websites that use Google Analytics and have opted in to share anonymized conversion data. From this information, we can distill dozens of key factors that correlate with likelihood to convert: things like session duration, pages per session, location, device and browser. We can then apply these key factors to any website. The easiest way to think about Smart Goals is that they reflect your website visits that our model indicates are most likely to lead to conversions.
Step 1: Activate Smart Goals in Google Analytics
To activate Smart Goals in Google Analytics, simply go to the Admin section of your Google Analytics account, click Goals (under the View heading) and select Smart Goals. The highest-quality visits to your website will now be turned into Smart Goals automatically. No additional tagging or customization is required; Smart Goals just work.
To help you see how Smart Goals perform before you activate them, weve built a Smart Goals report in the Conversions section of Google Analytics. The behavior metrics in this report indicate the engagement level of Smart Goals visits compared to other visits, helping you evaluate Smart Goals before you activate the feature.

Step 2: Import Smart Goals into AdWords
Like any other goal in Google Analytics, Smart Goals can be imported into AdWords to be used as an AdWords conversion. Once youve defined a conversion in AdWords, youre able to optimize for it.

Step 3: Optimizing for Smart Goals in AdWords
One of the benefits of measuring conversions in your Adwords account is the ability to set a target cost per acquisition (CPA) as opposed to just setting a cost per click (CPC). If you arent measuring actual conversions today, importing Smart Goals as conversions in Adwords allows you to set a target CPA. In this way, youre able to optimize your Adwords spend based on the likelihood of conversion as determined by our model.
Smart Goals will be rolling out over the next few weeks. To be eligible for Smart Goals, your Google Analytics property must be linked to your AdWords account(s). Learn how to link your Google Analytics property to your AdWords account(s) in the Analytics Help Center or the AdWords Help Center. Note that your Google Analytics view must receive at least 1,000 clicks from AdWords over a 30-day period to ensure the validity of your data.

Use Case Testing
Use Case Testing
Use case testing is basically a Test Designing technique. Use case contains the steps, this steps explains how the actor (which may be anything like user, client or other devices or system.) interacts between the applications. So this use case cover all the functional requirement of the application. It has two parts one is main scenario and other is exceptional scenario.
We will discuss some examples.
Use Case Name: Bike driving
So the use case name is Bike driving
Actors and System: Driver (user) and Bike
The actor are user and bike who are going to interact between each other.
Prerequisite:
- Bike should have fuel.
- Driver should know the driving.
- Driver should have the Bike Key.
These are the list of prerequisite, bike should have fuel, and without these bike wont run and other prerequisite is user should know the driving otherwise he will collide or crash on something.
How user case is show the interaction between the driver and the bike below are the normal flow and alternate way or alternate work flow. The difference between these two flows are in normal work flow nothing will go wrong, everything will happen as per the flow its something like the testing the application with the positive flow. And in alternate flow something can go wrong.
Normal Flow:
- The driver will sit on the bike.
- The driver remove the stand.
- The driver put the keys.
- The driver spin the key.
- The user will press start button to start bike
- The bike will start.
- The speedo meter will start.
- The driver pull the clutch.
- The driver will press the gear by foot.
- The driver will start releasing the clutch slowly slowly.
- The bike will start going forward slowly slowly.
- The driver will release whole clutch.
- The driver puts second.
- The bike will start gaining the speed.
- The driver will put 3rd gear bike will take more speed.
- The driver increate accelerator.
- The driver will put 4th gear bike will take more and more speed.
- The driver will decrease the gear 4th 3rd 2nd 1st neutral.
- The bike will start reducing the speed.
- The bike speed will become zero.
- The driver spin the key.
- The bike will stop and shut down.
- The use case ends with success.
This is the normal flow and steps of interaction between the driver and the bike. Here thing is correct. But in alternate work flow, something goes wrong, see below are the alternate work flows.
Alternate Work Flow (Negative flow):
When there is not fuel in bike : the after step 5 the step 6 will be as follow
Alternates steps:
Step 6. Bike will not start.
Step 7. User case will ends with failure.
When user enters wrong key : then bike will not start and keys will not spin
Alternates steps:
Step 4. The Driver enters wrong key.
Step 5. The Driver tries to spin the key.
Step 6. The bike will not start.
Step 7. Use case will ends with failure.
When there is no battery backup : so after pressing the starter the bike will not start
Alternate Steps:
Step 6.The driver will press the start button.
Step 7.The Bike will not start.
Step 8.The Use case will ends with failure.
There may be the more alternate ways, this is how use case look like. After creation of use case tester has to write the test cases for this use case. Mostly preferable is that write one test case for each flow, means one test case for normal flow and one test case for each alternate flows. That would be enough the cover all the requirements.
