A factory data reset may help with a blank or frozen screen, apps crashing or freezing, keypad/touchscreen problems, cant hear, device making noises, cant make or receive calls, and device wont sync.
WARNING: To avoid being locked out of your device, its strongly recommended to review the following before attempting to perform this reset:
Warning:Perform a factory data reset using this process only if absolutely necessary as it removes all data including:
Google account
Notes:
1.Ensure the device is powered off.
2.Press and hold the Volume Up + Bixby + Power buttons at the same time. Release all buttons when the Phone vibrates.

3.From the Android Recovery screen, select Wipe data/factory reset.
Note Utilize the volume buttons to cycle through the available options and the power button to select.

4.Select Yes.
Note: Allow several seconds for the factory data reset to complete.

5.Select Reboot system now.
Note Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.
Note To set up the device after the reset has completed, refer to Initial Activation and Setup.

- For devices with a Samsung account active:
- Its imperative the Samsung user name and password are known before attempting this reset.
- If the credentials cant be remembered, they can be reset.
- If the password for the Google account used to enable Device Protection on the device cant be remembered:
- Attempt to log in with any Google account previously used on the device.
- Reset the password.
Note: Once reset, the device wont accept the new password and cant be used for 24 hours. After 24 hours, a device restart must be performed to verify the waiting period has been met.

Notes:
- An alternate reset method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.
- Wi-Fi Calling settings dont transfer after switching devices and/or performing a factory data reset. You need to enable W-Fi Calling manually if you want to use it.
