terlanjur update miui 8 1 4 0 Redmi Note 3 Pro jadi hilang 4G LTE begini cara mengaktifkan kembali

Waah... Asiik... dapat pembaruan MIUI 8.1.4.0 neeh... di smarthone XIAOMI Redmi Note 3 Pro, eh tunggu dulu.. Jangan-jangan bakalan ilang lagi 4G/LTE...  katanya bakalan ilang... ????

Yaah... Terlanjur terupdate... Tuuu...kan ilang... :(

setting bahasa Inggris TWRP ZCX_TWRP_0914

Flashing a Global ROM onto the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Snapdragon 650

Flashing a Global ROM onto the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Snapdragon 650

During yesterdays trip to Stokenchurch to meet up with some fellow phone fanatics, I purchased a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro second hand off one of the guys at the meet. No doubt I will go into more details in a future post about the differences between this phone and the Mediatek (non-Pro) version, but in this post I will provided an overview of how I transitioned from the stock Chinese ROM to the Global ROM.

A similar procedure is likely needed for other Snapdragon SoC Xiaomi devices, although I have only tried the Redmi Note 3 Pro myself.

Preparation

We will need to download the following ROM images and tools before proceeding:

Chinese Developer ROM
MIUI Flashing tool
Redmi Note 3 Latest Qualcomm Global Stable (Fastboot ROM)
Unlocking tool
15 second adb installer (if adb and fastboot are not already installed on your PC)

Stage 1 - Changing from the Stable ROM to a Developer ROM

In order to unlock the bootloader on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro you need to be on the Developer firmware. This is unlike my experience with the Mediatek version, where an unlock could be performed from either ROM channel.

If you try to unlock the ROM from Stable, the unlock process will fail at 50% with the error message "Current account is different from the account info on the device"

Ensure you are running the latest version of the Stable Chinese ROM (check in the Updater app) and then flash the Developer ROM via the built in Updater app.

To do this, copy the zip file onto the device, run the Updater app, select the button at the top right and select "Chose Update Package". Select the zip file and off you go - you should have changed from the Stable channel to the Developer channel.

Stage 2 - Unlocking the bootloader

In a previous post I have gone into details of how to request a bootloader unlock from Xiaomi. If you have requested an unlock previously, you should already have the permissions on your Mi account to unlock the bootloader directly, but if not then it is worth checking this post.

Ensure that you are logged onto your Mi account in the phone, reboot into Fastboot mode (from device off, hold down power and volume down), run up the Unlocking tool MiFlashUnlock, sign in and go through the unlock procedure.

Stage 3 - Flashing the Global ROM

Once the bootloader is unlocked you can flash the Global ROM via the MiPhone flash tool. Once again, unlike the SP Flash tool used for Mediatek SoCs, with the Snapdragon SoC the bootloader must be unlocked before we can flash using this tool.

We need to unzip the tgz completely to get the extracted files and then use the MiFlash tool to flash the device. The tool is a little picky on the location of the files, so I put them in a folder off the root of the C drive.

It should be noted that fastboot and adb must be preinstalled for the tool to work - if required, download the 15 second adb installer above.

During the installation of the MiFlash tool, all sorts of weird instructions are given, mentioning a "Settings" application. I ignored all this, as there was no settings application installed & all went well without any further configuration.

To flash the Global ROM, the phone must be in Fastboot mode (Power and Vol down) and attached via USB to the PC. We must locate the unzipped global images folder using the Browse button (where the batch files are located) and then select refresh, which should pick up the device. Select "Flash all" as the flash option and then hit the Flash button.

Hopefully once everything has completed, the phone will boot up with the Global image, with all the Google services and a distinct lack of Chinese apps!

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Review

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Review

On September 2nd, 2016, Samsung issued a recall on the Galaxy Note 7 because of a safety concern with the battery. The company halted sales and recalled all 2.5 million devices it manufactured. It then issued replacement devices that were deemed to be safe for use by both Samsung and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Unfortunately, it turns out that those devices were no safer than the first run and presented many of the same risks. As a result, Samsung has been forced to recall those and is stopping production on the Note 7.

Samsungs disastrous battery issues have invalidated the praise we have heaped upon its beautifully designed, but fatally flawed smartphone. We leave this review up as testament to almost-was history, but have removed the score in light of the events. We do not recommend you purchase the Note 7, even if youre able to find it in stock. You can read more about the recall and the events that have transpired in our Galaxy Note 7 recall Story Stream.
There is no greater evidence of The Future of Computing than the big-screened smartphone. Big phones have become the de facto personal computers for many people, taking the place of countless devices, including laptops and tablets. Theyve become more than just phones in ways that smaller devices havent matched research shows that owners of phablets use their devices a lot more than others.
But big phones come with their own set of baggage that isnt seen on normal-sized phones. They are frequently clumsy to use, awkward to hold, and less attractive than their smaller counterparts. More often than not, a big phone is just a stretched-out version of a small phone, without any consideration made for the larger display.
Samsung has been changing that dynamic lately, building phones with big screens that dont feel like big phones at all. Its new Galaxy Note 7 is the best big phone ever made for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it feels like a device that was designed to be a big phone from the beginning with features that mitigate the tradeoffs inherent with big devices. I cant say the same for the iPhone 6S Plus, Nexus 6P, or any other giant phone on the market, which are downright clunky in comparison.
The Note 7 is Samsungs best device ever, and arguably the best big phone ever made. If thats all youre looking to know, then you can stop reading right now and go place your order. It will cost you $849 or more, depending on carrier, and can be preordered now. It will be available in stores starting on August 19th.

But its interesting to explore why the Note 7 is the best big phone ever. Samsung has more experience with big phones than any other company, and it is leveraging that to improve the big phone experience. Its the only company thats saying a big phone doesnt have to feel like a big phone or be saddled with compromises often associated with them. Samsung wants you to have your cake and eat it too, and that cakes flavor is the Note 7.

Apples iPhone monopolized the talk about smartphone design for nearly a decade. But in the past year and a half, Samsungs design department has made dramatic leaps and bounds, cranking out beautiful, functional designs and rapidly iterating on them. Where Apple has been content with a two-year hardware design cycle (and by all accounts, it appears to be moving to an even slower three-year cycle), Samsung has improved and updated its designs on a rapid-fire, six-month basis. Since last years Galaxy S6 design revitalization, Samsung has iterated three times on its formula and the Note 7 is the finest design Samsung has ever produced.

jbareham_160815_1180_A_0014.0.jpg

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0259.0.jpg

The Note 7s combination of metal and glass, symmetrical sides, and rounded corners make it the nicest-looking phone Ive ever laid eyes on. Its just a beautiful piece of gadgetry. But the design isnt just for aesthetics: its all in service to that big screen and making sure that the compromises that come with a large display are minimized. The Note 7s design is remarkably functional, giving the Note 7 a normal phone feel, even though it has a massive display.
Part of that is because the Note 7 is actually smaller than any other phone in this class. Its 4.7mm shorter and 4mm narrower than the iPhone 6S Plus, 5.8mm shorter and 3.9mm narrower than the Nexus 6P, and 2.2mm narrower than last years already trim Note 5. The Note 7s dimensions make it easier to handle, easier to slip into a pocket, and generally nicer to use than any other phone with a big screen.
The curved sides of the display dont scream "look at me" quite as much as the S7 Edges dramatic bends. They have a subtle curve that provides flatter display area and distorts the image on the screen less, yet still manages to make the Note 7 narrower than if it had a fully flat display. The Note 7s rear glass panel mirrors the front curves exactly, giving the phone its visual symmetry and comfortable feel.
These qualities of efficient design and premium materials are found on the S7 Edge too, but the Note 7 has been refined even further, with softer edges, cleaner lines, and a nicer feel in my hand. Just five months ago, I said that the S7 Edge was the most impressive smartphone hardware Id ever held, and now Samsung has trumped itself with the Note 7.

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0141.0.jpg

The Note 7 shares a lot of other qualities with the S7 Edge, as well. It has the same type of Super AMOLED quad HD resolution display, albeit larger and slightly brighter; the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM; the same water resistance and expandable storage; the same excellent cameras; and a similar capacity battery with the same fast wired and wireless charging. The only notable spec differences are that the Note 7 comes with 64GB of internal storage as opposed to the S7s 32GB and it uses a USB Type-C port instead of the old Micro USB jack.
That means that a lot of the things about the S7 Edge apply equally here. The screen is pixel-dense, color-rich, and gorgeous to look at (and can get even brighter than the already blindingly bright S7s screen in daylight); the processor and RAM combine for fast, reliable performance; and the water resistance is a feature I think every high-end phone should offer. The Note 7s 3,500mAh battery is 17 percent larger than the battery in last years Note 5, and its able to last me through a full day of use. At this point, Id love for a flagship phone like the Note 7 to last multiple days on a charge, but the fast charging features make it easy to top up when I need to.

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0282.0.jpg

And since the Note 7 has the same 12-megapixel camera as the S7 series, it has arguably the best smartphone camera available right now. (Its certainly not a downgrade from last years 16-megapixel camera. Check out our interview with Samsungs Kim Gae-youn for more on why.) The optically stabilized, f/1.7 lens is excellent for low light shots and focuses quicker than any other phones camera, and the camera app launches rapidly with a double-press of the home button. The app has been cleaned up for the Note 7, with a simpler interface that relies on gestures for switching between front and rear cameras and changing modes.

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0176.0.jpg

The big new headline feature on the Note 7 is the iris scanner, which uses a special front-facing camera array to scan your eyes and unlock your phone. It provides an alternative to using a password, PIN, pattern, or fingerprint for authentication.
The iris scanner works as advertised, often quickly scanning my eyes and unlocking the phone. It uses infrared technology, so it can work in low light. But its clumsier to use than the already very quick fingerprint scanner, as I have to turn on the display, swipe up, and then bring the phone awkwardly close to my face to trigger it. Its a fun party trick, but I ended up just forgetting about it and using the fingerprint scanner instead.
The second most important thing that separates the Note 7 from Samsungs other devices and every other big phone is the updated S Pen. The S Pen has been a hallmark feature of the Note line since its inception its really what makes a Note a Note, and not just another phone with a big screen. The S Pen can be used to jot down notes, draw pictures, or navigate the phones interface.

But by far the coolest new S Pen feature is the ability to create GIFs from any video in just a few taps. In a matter of seconds, I can create a GIF from a YouTube video, add notes or stickers to it, and then share it right from my phone. Its not something Id have guessed the S Pen would be able to do, but its fun and easy to use. Further, the S Pen has the same level of water resistance as the phone itself, and it can even work when the phone is wet, making it the most over-the-top way to jot down ideas in the shower.
Samsung has tweaked the hardware of the S Pen this go around, too. The pen tip itself is narrower and has twice as many levels of pressure sensitivity for a more natural writing feel. And, unlike with last years Note 5, its impossible to put it in backwards and damage the phone.
I like that I can now use the S Pen to magnify parts of the screen, multitask between two apps, or instantly translate text using Googles Translate services. Artists might appreciate the new color blending features available when drawing in Samsungs app. The four disparate apps that Samsung used to package on the Note have been combined into a single Samsung Notes app thats easier to use and simpler to navigate. The ability to take notes right on the phones lock screen that debuted with last years Note 5 has been expanded with the ability to "pin" notes there for quick access. My only complaint with Samsung Notes is that it doesnt easily sync with other services, such as Evernote or OneNote, instead relying on Samsungs own proprietary backup and sync. (You can share notes to other apps, but that can only be done one note at a time and is rather tedious.)

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0217.0.jpg

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0096.0.jpg

jbareham_160811_1180_A_0156.0.jpg

To go along with its refined hardware design, the Note 7 has a refined version of Samsungs software interface on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. (An update to Android 7.0 Nougat has been promised, but Samsung has not yet provided any timing for when that might happen.) Its both nicer to look at and easier to use than Samsungs earlier software efforts.
There are a couple new features that have been cribbed from other devices or third-party apps, such as the new nighttime display mode similar to Apples Night Shift that can be triggered based on sunrise and sunset. The always-on display feature from the S7 has been improved with more calendar layouts and support for all third-party app notifications, making it much more useful than before.

BLOATWARE REMAINS AN ISSUE
Despite the interface improvements, the Note 7 is still loaded with carrier bloatware and duplicative apps, things that have been dogging Samsung phones for years. The T-Mobile version Ive been testing has a half-dozen apps preinstalled, including the incredibly useless Lookout app scanner, and you can be sure that the other carrier models are similar. There are also two email apps, two browsers, two photo apps, two voice assistants, and Samsungs own versions of Androids calendar and calculator apps instead of the ones that Google already develops. The only real way to avoid carrier bloatware entirely is to wait for the unlocked version of the Note 7 to arrive, but Samsung has yet to say when that will be available, and it will still likely have duplicative apps. These arent deal-breaking problems, but they are annoyances that dont match up with the rest of the Note 7s stellar experience.

jbareham_160811_1180_B_0045.0.jpg

Being the best in a category as competitive as smartphones isnt something that can be done on the back of one or two features. The Note 7 is not the best because its 5.7-inch screen is bigger than every other phones display (though it is arguably better); its not because its dramatically more powerful or faster than any other phone; its not because its battery is substantially longer lasting than others; and its not because its camera is markedly better than anything else you could buy, including other phones from Samsung. Its the best because it has the best combination of all of those qualities, wrapped in a skin thats beautiful to look at and lovely to hold.
The price is high, though not unheard of, and if you want the best, paying a lot for it shouldnt come as a surprise. And while the carrier bloatware is still a problem, the Note 7 is easily the best big phone Ive ever used and quite a few steps ahead of its competitors. If youre debating between the also excellent S7 Edge and the Note 7, its hard to go wrong either way, but the Note provides more features and a better design for a minimal cost over the S7.

THE NOTE 7 IS QUITE A FEW STEPS AHEAD OF ITS COMPETITORS

Apples take on the big phone Future of Computing was seen as a revelation for millions of iPhone users, but it didnt feel like a full commitment to the big phone concept. Its just a bigger iPhone, with the same hardware design and software experience. The same can be said of the Nexus 6P and many other big Android phones, which arent markedly different than smaller options. The Note 7, however, leverages Samsungs years of expertise building big phones, and its hardware design and software features lift it up above the fray. Its the least compromised big phone you can buy, and it doesnt force you give up anything that makes big phones so great.
If you havent yet been sold on why a phone with a big screen can change how you think about mobile computing, the Note 7 is the best pitch yet.

Installing a custom ROM on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Nikel) requires the bootloader to be unlocked on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Nikel) phone, which may VOID your warranty and may delete all your data. Before proceeding further you may consider backup all data on the phone. You are the only person doing changes to your phone and I cannot be held responsible for the mistakes done by you.

Status of Unofficial Lineage os for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Nikel) Marshmallow 6.0 Custom ROM:

WHATS WORKING:

Also take nandroid backup before installing

Done with preliminary precautionary steps? So, heres the guide:

TWRP recovery lets you do a number of cool stuff but the whole point of having a custom recovery is to be able to flash unsigned .zip files. These .zip files could be anything from a custom kernel, boot, recovery, MODs or full custom ROMs.

Lets see how to flash a lineage os rom on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Nikel) using TWRP recovery.

How to Install a Unofficial Lineageos on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Nikel)

  1. Download and transfer the Unofficial Lineage os ROM and Gapps for linage os you wish to flash to your devices storage.

Upgrading the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910F to a custom Marshmallow 6 0 1 build

Upgrading the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910F to a custom Marshmallow 6 0 1 build

For around a year the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been my primary phone. While other devices have come and gone, my main SIM has always been in the Note 4. This is largely due to its flexibility (MicroSD card slot & removable battery), but also due to the great display & a screen size that I personally find about optimal.

Earlier in the week, Samsung released Android 6.0.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Note N910F, upgrading the device from 5.1.1 Lollipop.

My personal setup is quite complex on the Note 4, so I thought I would share with you how I performed the upgrade.

Firstly, I wanted to start from scratch - the device was quite full, with plenty of apps that I could cull - so I wanted to wipe the device and start again. The performance was also looking pretty tired, especially compared to my secondary device - the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, which is undoubtedly the best 150ish phone on the market for my needs. I hoped Marshmallow would improve things in this area (and it sure did!).

My Lollipop install had these features, which I wanted to retain:

 - Rooted
 - A 480dpi setting (rather than 640)
 - Xposed framework
 - Xposed GEL settings to modify the homescreen grid
 - Xposed App Settings to fix the camera, which doesnt like the DPI change

Luckily all the above are also available in Marshmallow, mainly due to work performed on other 6.0.1 Samsung devices.

It should be noted that flashing a custom firmware or TWRP will permanently trip the KNOX flag. I guess this could be an issue while the phone is still under warranty, but I tripped it within an hour of buying my Note 4.

If you just want to flash a stock build (Step 1 below) then KNOX will not be tripped.

Software Requirements

SM-N910F Generic UK Firmware from Sammobile
Samsung ODIN 3.11.1 from an XDA post (the latest version at the time of writing)
N910F TWRP from the official TWRP website
Alexndr DevBase v3.4 custom firmware (slimmed down stock firmware with Xposed)

On major Google Now launcher updates, the Xposed GEL Settings app may run slightly behind. It is worth checking the community to see whether the current version is supported and if not, download the last supported version.

Preparation

I wanted to ensure that I could recover in case of any issues (as I was factory resetting), so I did the following:

 - Titanium Backup of all apps
 - Full backup in TWRP
 - Backup of the SD card and useful internal files onto my server
 - An export from various apps that dont have cloud backup (Podcast, Xposed GEL settings etc)

Once I was happy I had everything, I did a factory reset.

Stage 1 - Flash the official UK stock firmware

1. Extract the downloaded firmware zip file to get a .tar.md5 file, suitable for ODIN
2. Run ODIN & connect the tar.md5 firmware file to the AP section
3. Turn the phone off
4. Boot the phone while holding Home + Power + Vol Down to get into download mode
5. Connect the phone to the PC via USB
6. Click on Start to start the firmware flash

Once complete, exit ODIN & let the phone install the new OS. I completed the phone setup procedure to make sure that the device was fully working before continuing.

Stage 2 - Flash TWRP

Flashing TWRP is pretty much the same as flashing the main firmware

1. Run ODIN & connect the twrp-3.0.2-0-trltexx.img.tar file to the AP section
2. Turn the phone off
3. Boot the phone while holding Home + Power + Vol Down to get into download mode
4. Connect the phone to the PC via USB
5. Click on Start to start the firmware flash

Stage 3 - Flash the Custom ROM

1. Rename the ROM to N910FXXU1DPE1_DevBase_v3.4_initd_xposed.zip (as we want initd and xposed support) & copy onto the phone
2. Boot to TWRP with Power + Home + Vol Up
3. Perform a Factory reset through TWRP
4. Flash the N910FXXU1DPE1_DevBase_v3.4_initd_xposed.zip inside TWRP
5. Reboot & set up the phone

Stage 4 - Settings

While this firmware comes with the May 2016 Security Policy, there is a potential bootloop issue with the latest policy upgrade. It seems a little odd, as May should be the latest, but I have disabled automatic updates for the time being:

Go into Settings / Security / Security policy updates and untick Automatic updates

At a later date we will need to install the App Settings Xposed module, so while we are here we may as well enable Unknown Sources

Go into Settings / Security  and tick Unknown Sources

Stage 5 - Dpi Customisation

While the default Samsung launcher isnt a fan of changing the dpi, I use the Google Now launcher and a lower dpi setting to enable more information to be shown on the Notes large 5.7" display.

1. Open the Play store
2. Install Google Now Launcher
3. Install & run texdroider dpi
4. Change the dpi to 480
5. Reboot
6. On reboot chose the Google Now Launcher as the default launcher

Stage 6 - Set up Xposed

I install two Xposed modules:

App Settings allows per-app dpi settings, which can fix apps that do not like the dpi change.

Xposed GEL Settings allows us to customise the grid of the Google Now launcher, along with other features

1. Run the Xposed Installer
2. Go to Download and search for App Settings
3. Install & open it
4. Find Camera & enable it for modification
5. Change the dpi to 640 & Save
6. Go to Modules & enable App Settings
7. Reboot

Stage 7 - Set up XGELS

There are a few settings I make inside the Xposed GEL Settings app:

General
Resize Widgets - On

Homescreen
Enable - On
Grid Size - 8x6
Icons Enable - On
Icon Size - 85
Icon Text Size - 80

There are plenty of others, but this is my basic setup.

Post Setup

After setting up the OS and UI as I like, I had to install a subset of my existing apps from Titanium. One real advantage to rooting is to be able to back up not only your apps, but also their associated data, making reinstallation a lot easier.

Marshmallow Analysis

After the upgrade I have been shocked at how much smoother and faster my Note 4 has become on Marshmallow. I suspect that at least some of this is due to a factory reset, but looking through XDA it seems that in-place upgrades have also seen an improvement.

Al in all, I am pretty happy - it takes quite a bit of effort to configure my setup, but once done it is good for months and works exactly as I like.
